Professor John Matthews Testimonial

I have known Joy Leng for about 5 years when I was working as professor in National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I worked in Visual and Performing Arts and when teaching drawing and painting within the visual arts department I employed Joy Leng as a model.

She was an excellent model and she contributed a great deal to the class. She brought her skills and her creativity as a dancer to my classes. She helped motivate the students and they enjoyed her company.

She would sometimes allow us to draw her team of dancers from her events company, in the city. She added greatly to the success of my classes and helped my students develop as draughts-persons, because with her input, I was able to break the mould of the sometimes stifling approach to drawing practiced in Singapore education. She helped give the students some freedom by her own example of creative dance.

Joy has a very good and unstinting work ethic. I understand that she constantly would like to extend her own education and I think that she deserved to be given a chance to do this.

As well as being friendly and charming, she is very clever and intelligent young woman. I can recommend her wholeheartedly.

Yours faithfully,

Professor John Matthews,
